last night at the farm

last night before the mass was celebrated i checked out the sky.
looked for the moon to seek comfort at a dark corner...
the sun has just set as the moon was trying its best to take over.
i sat and waited... darkness started to cover the land ...
so sad and lonely... so dark and gloomy...

my olympus!

my olympus C770UZ

one of my dream cams... been a fanatic with photography since highschool but i never did get to touch the SLR type. i used the minolta 110 type (forgot the model) and the olympus 135 film camera (daang i also forgot the model). it was so cool since it was the first camera in school which had the auto-s flash for the red eye effect and it had a remote control and multi shot capabilities. it also had
good zoom capacity compared any ordinary camera. i really did not know what happened but it suddenly malfunctioned. whenever i turn it on, it turns off. even with 2 fresh lithium batteries (which by the way costs 200 each, whew!) ... then my photography carreer stopped and laid there dormant for a few years.

as my college days began to end, which by the way took years hehehehehe! i started to get a hold of a camera. i got the kodak kb10 wherein i was not really interested with the quality but the moments captured.

i graduated (at last!) and got myself a job. this time i travelled a lot more than usual and took even more pics (since i can afford the developing charges). we did road trips and named ourselves skimurais (skimmers with honor kunuhay). we skimmed, posed, and took snapshots. a lot of them!

later on, my friend marlo bought a digital cam ... sony dsc p i liked it so much that i got addicted to it. we used also a mini digital cam which looked like a toothbrush. i got so hooked that i bought my own sony dsc-p43 and took pics like there is no end to it. documented all my trips from beachineering, mountaineering, roadtrips and skimboarding.

well all good things come to an end... my sony dsc p-43 fell on water asi skimmed on a trip... later on it fell on a puddle of mud. and... so... it retired. the motherboard got so wet that we had to replace it and it costs a lot. my carreer stopped.

well it never really did... i used all my hard earned money to get me my olympus c770UZ
its not really a dslr which gives me the best quality pics but its a semi-slr type cam. i can manipulate shutter speed, apperture and exposure. great! what more, it has a 10x optical zoom capability for outdoor shots.

been experimenting and learning all about taking pictures. i learned that its not that simple to take great shots. taking pics with the full manual setting is a very, very, very difficult task. proper exposure and having a steady aim at subjects is a hard one. although it really differs with the dslr cam (due to the electronic zooming option and manual focusing is not with the push of a button) i get to feel the dedication and talent that other photograpers had. all the creativity and eyesight for beauty. hope my olympus would get me ready for my dslr which i will be acquiring someday.

im glad its there when im bored or just feelin' creative

burn 'em

this is one of mah fave gadget... kovea camp 4 burner. its been with me for more than a year now. only problem i had was with its igniter good thing i have this passion for fixing (and destoying) things so i used a cigarette lighter's igniter and then wallaahh! its back in biz.
only thing i noticed with this burner is unlike that of the newer versions which has free swinging legs, my burner has the stable folding type. i noticed it when i compared it to piox' camp 4.
i just hope this will last me a lifetime... more trips, more cookin'
